Safari stands for Societal Applications in Fisheries and Aquaculture using Remote sensing Imagery

Trevor Platt Science Foundation (TPSF) and partners are pleased to announce:

Their second science symposium, jointly with the third SAFARI symposium: which will bring together two community building activities associated with Prof. Trevor Platt, FRS, FRSC. The first International TREVOR symposium was held at Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK in 2023. The previous two SAFARI symposia were held at Kochi, in 2010 and 2018 respectively. Associated training course: The symposium will be preceded by a training course from 27-31 October 2026, at the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad, India, followed by a field trip in Vembanad Lake, Kerala, India and laboratory analyses of the samples collected from 1-3 November 2026, which will be organised by Department of Chemical Oceanography, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi, India. Symposium will be hosted by CUSAT. The venue will be ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi, India
